3 CHEAPS Valentine Dinner Tips

Valentine’s Day is coming up and I know funds may be tight.  Well, here are 3 ways you can enjoy your Valentine’s Day dinner and still keep your pockets intact. First option is to eat at a restaurant that serves breakfast.  Breakfast is significantly cheaper than dinner.  This way you can get full and still leave with a half-full wallet.  Pancake yourself silly!! The second option is to order from your favorite restaurant and eat at home.  This way you don’t have to pay for drinks ($5 saved) and you don’t have to leave a tip ($5 saved).  This leaves you with $10 left in your pocket.  That’s enough for a little gift or a savings deposit.  Also, you don’t have to worry about the 2 hour wait of the crowded restaurant scene.  The third option is to eat at home and partially cook.  You can buy your meat from the grocery story already cooked (fish, chicken, shrimp...).  Then you can cook your sides at home (can or fresh).  Some grocery stores sale sides that are already cooked as well.  This way you can buy your meat and sides from the grocery store and not have to cook anything!! These are just a few ways to enjoy your Valentine’s Day and your dinner bill at the same time.

God bless.

Keep Throwing Out Seeds

One thing that I have learned in life is to keep throwing out seeds!! When a farmer goes in the field, he throws out bags and bags of seeds.  Some seeds will produce and some will not. That’s why the farmer throws out more than one single seed. He increases his chances of producing a great harvest. Once harvest season comes, the farmer picks up the product that the seeds produced. Then he prepares to throw out more seeds for the next season. The unfortunate thing is that we want to throw out one seed and produce a harvest that will last a lifetime. But that’s not how it works!! We have to keep throwing out seeds (keep trying new ideas).

If you have an idea for a business/ministry and it doesn’t go as planned, keep throwing out seeds!! If you have an idea for a business/ministry and it goes better than planned, keep throwing out seeds!! The harvest that you have now may not cover multiple seasons. The best thing to do is to keep throwing out seeds for the next season of your life. When I say keep throwing out seeds, I am not saying to keep trying to get rich. Most get-rich-quick schemes will get-you-broke. But keep trying different ideas that are from your heart. God blessed you with visions and many of ideas, so use them. You were given this large brain to use, not to let someone think for you and tell you the one thing you should be doing the rest of your life. Live your life to the fullest, full of birthed ideas from your heart. Also, don’t compare your harvest to others. If you are planting collard greens, don’t compare your harvest to someone who planted corn. Corn is corn and collards greens are collard greens!! (Yes, I am getting hungry) Throw out seeds that are to your liking and design. So get out in the field and start throwing out seeds no matter how big or small your last harvest was. God bless.

Self Fish

When I ask people why they enjoy fishing, they tell me about how they enjoy being out there on the water and just getting away.  But the thing they enjoy most is catching the game!!  The challenge of getting a bite on their line and the battle of bringing the fish in.  The fisherman walks away with a Victory and Dinner.  With that being said, why don’t we “Self Fish”?  Why not throw out a line and see what’s in us.  See what we like and don’t like about ourselves.  We may find a new hobby or create new goals.  Self Fishing will allow you to walk away with Victory and a meal (wisdom).  Self Fishing will break down the boundaries of why you make certain decisions.  In my last book Single Again, I made a comment about single people not wanting to be alone.  And I will restate it here, why would anyone else want to spend time with you if you don’t want to spend time with YOU?

I know you are saying this Self Fishing thing sounds good, but how do you start?  I am glad you asked!!  First, get a sheet of paper and fold it in half the long way. Open the paper and on the top left-hand side, write the word “Enjoy”.  On the top right-hand side, write the word “Goals”.  Under the Enjoy side, write down the things you enjoy.  For me it would be writing, vacations, good food….and so on.  Write at least 10 things.  Then on the Goals side, write down goals you have.  It could be paying off credit cards, getting a college degree, paying off a car, buying a house, publishing a book or whatever your goals may be.  CONGRATULATIONS, you are Self Fishing!!  To go ever further, what you enjoy and your goals should relate.  Think about it!!  If you enjoy writing, then publishing a book could be a goal.  If you enjoy having no bills, paying off your car or credit card should be a goal.  They relate!!  You have just started the process of setting goals.  I am not trying to teach a class but you are learning more than just about you.  You are learning the process of getting where you want to go.  You don’t have to stop there!!  You can choose subjects such as Jobs, Businesses or Books and have an Enjoy and Goals column.  If you do some Self Fishing every few weeks, you will learn about you and what you can accomplish.  It’s OK to Self Fish!!
